The work of learning. Anxieties and defenses in learning. To complete the consideration developed by the other research team members’ considerations, these pages are meant to explore the aspects of fatigue and discomfort in the experience of learning psychosocio- analysis. Starting from Jaques’s definition of work, here are examined the symbolic aspects of the learning experience, and the possibility that learners react with resistance and defense mechanisms to the anxiety aroused from confrontation with others, to the conflict possibility and, mostly, to the perspective of personal change to which the learning process (intended as crossing and overcoming stereotypes) exposes the subject himself. In the closing, the authors question themselves about the interpretative utility of the "false learning" concept, drawn from Winnicott’s "False Self".
