Sex reassignment surgery (SRS) represents the ultimate goal for many transsexuals. Analysis conducted on expectations and satisfaction of transsexuals and their attitude towards procreation show how - post SRS - perceived quality of life is high and how, with time, the desire to procreate tends to decrease and sometimes even disappear. A new field of study on sexuality is represented by the role that the media play in the construction of individual and social values and behavioral patterns, as well as in the construction of stereotypes and clichés about the roles of men and women. The target the most sensitive to the contents brought by the media is that of young people and teenagers who - called to face the various developmental tasks connected to this delicate stage of life - are always looking for identity models.
