This paper begins with reading the book The Battlefield of the Mind. Notes and Testimonies about war, published by Vecchiarelli Editore. It outlines some pathways of connection, using mythical narratives, particularly the tragedies of Aeschylus (Seven Against Thebes, The Persians, and the Oresteia) in connection with some psychoanalytic and group-analytic inserts. Following Bion’s lesson, the myth is used as a possible model of knowledge for the group, capable of promoting a mythopoetic function and expanding spaces of thinkability and understanding of the human group experience. The aim is to evoke emotional suggestions and evocative images to confront everyone with the tragedy of the contemporary world.
