Torino by night: urban politics, consumption and spatial dynamics in the urban playscape - The article focuses on recent transformations in the nightlife landscape of nightclubs, music venues and clubs in the city of Torino (Turin). The concept of playscape is discussed in the framework of the creative city debate, discussing the relationship between the diffusion of entertainment facilities and the idea of competitive and attractive cities in the eyes of global flows. The analysis is based on interviews with consumers of nightlife, local owners and experts, and on data and references of the local press. Through the production of maps, the study produces some reflections on new forms of centrality and marginalization of some specific urban areas.
