The label exception for GMOs within 0,9% in conventional food stuffs is at the basis of the rules of the coexistence of GM crops with conventional and organic farming. Whiting for regional "coexistence measures" in Italy, the Author believes necessary clarify the meaning of "accidental or technically unavoidable" utilized by the EU Legislator. According to the EU jurisprudence and the European institutions, the limit of 0,9% represents a threshold comparable to the ones provided for in the remediation regulations or in other acts of food Law. Consequences of it would affect the "coexistence measures" we are waiting for, and the possibility of having a totally "gmo-free" product on our table.
