Products consisting of or containing GMOs and food products obtained from GMOs which have been authorized on the basis of the procedure under Directive 2001/18/EC or Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 are subject to traceability and labelling requirements pursuant to Regulations (EC) No1829/2003 and 1830/2003. Labelling provides information for consumers and users of the product and allows them to make an informed choice. The necessity of protection of consumers has given an important role to the principle of precaution. The work is particularly focus on the analysis of the repercussions on community policy about Gmo’s labelling.
