The authors present the current importance of the classical psychosocial-analytical interventions through the Operative Groups (Pichon Rivière) method in the contemporary world. Globalization and a shortsighted attitude of investors and managers have deeply influenced work organization, the allotment of responsibilities and roles and the function of institutions. Indeed firms, agencies, authorities and corporations do not have their former defensive function against basic anxieties; on the contrary, they themselves produce anxiety since they do not give an adequate answer to the subjective needs of acknowledgement, individuality and uniqueness.

Keywords: Operative Group, globalization, institution, psychosocial-analysis, professional training, ambiguity
