The issue analyzes chronologically the recent Swiss discussion on the assisted suicide practice from an ethical point of view. The debate presents many uncertainties about the law of the Criminal Code that does not punish a person who helps someone to kill him/herself, but for a financial advantage. The law is quite general: the discussion about has been wide and there have been many efforts to specify it, also through a liberalization of the criminal law that punishes the consensual homicide. After trying the pertinence of different legislative versions, the Swiss government decided to keep unchanged the normative situation: the ethical discussion about still continues.
