Cesare Vasoli passed away in Florence in April 2013. For almost 50 years he had been a leading scholar in the field of Renaissance intellectual history. His works contributed substantially to the new interpretation of this important period in European history, investigating its links both with the Middle Ages and the age of Scientific Revolution. This short profile presents Vasoli’s major works, dealing with crucial themes and personalities at the time of Humanism and the Renaissance, and attempts to cast light on the method he used in his research into intellectual history.
