Social farming includes a broad range of different practices and so is not easy to define. But in the broad range of interested issues, we always look at two elements in common: a) the activities take place on a farm; and b) they are designed for people who - temporarily or permanently - have specific needs, including educational needs. The Italian law 18 agosto 2015, n. 141 («Regulation on Social Agriculture»), «promotes social agriculture as an aspect of multifunctionality of farming» (art.1, «Goals»). During the past, social agriculture has appeared under many different aspects, employing various agricultural resources and all considered in the same way as "social agriculture", but however being characterized by different approaches, intersectorial relations and forms of funding. About this think of the socalled experiences as "farming for health", "care farming", "green care" and "green therapies" relating to the care, social reintegration, rehabilitation and much more. It should therefore bring within a legal frame of reference one regulatory area that covers a wide spectrum of activities, also in order to foster the development through an organic and coordinated path among the institutional level (at national and European level).
