The Author describes the internal reworking process set in motion by an experience of impasse in clinical writing on the theme of heter-ologous motherhood. Starting from a countertransference dream, the necessary elaboration to differentiate the components of the bond formed between the Analyst and the patient during treatment takes the shape of a complex labor that the Author - taking inspiration from Arthur Schnitzler’s novel Dream Story - calls "the double dream of the analyst". The paper then describes the development of an associative chain that binds together personal experience, clinical experience and theoretical references and leads to an enriching, self-analytical experi-ence.
Keywords: Analytic writing, countertransference, psychic bonds, self-analysis.
