Traumatic destructions, which are affecting since decades the historic cores of the Middle Eastern regions, have damaged their morphological and social structure. Placing specific interest on the recovery of the urban landscape as a whole, this paper aims at outlining design strategies for the regeneration of the Ancient City of Aleppo, based on methodologies involving the local community in processes of choral reconstruction of the urban society, of houses and open spaces.
