During the Covid-19 crisis, European institutions aimed at the promotion of social-economic cohesion and economic recovery. This article aims to analyse three different aspects of the EU intervention in the economy. Firstly, it examines the governance of the so-called Next Generation EU package. Secondly, it focuses on the conditionality mechanisms that shape access to resources to the pursuit of European policy goals. Thirdly, the article analyses the role of the ECB in the promotion of cohesion.
