This article explains a new line of research in the study of war in Spain. It anal¬yses the battlefields of the 1808-1814 war against Napoleon as spaces that require an interdisciplinary approach. Furthermore, it underlines the importance of developing them as heritage resources, as well as emphasising their educational and touristic dimension.. Thus, the article initially provides a contextualisation of the international framework, and then examines the situation in Spain, lastly explaining in detail the results of the War Landscapes project.
