This article briefly reconstructs the profile of Alberto Asor Rosa as a scholar, poli¬tical ideologue, cultural organizer and writer. The evolution of this author proceeded from his search for revolutionary political solutions to a pessimistic vision of contem¬porary society, which appeared to him as confused and disorderly. Furthermore, among the thousands of pages written by him, we have chosen some original exam¬ples of discussions of literary texts which go beyond an ideological analysis.
