The author of this study aims to draw the attention of Catanese people, in particular, to the figure of Baroness Anna Grimaldi, married Zappalà (1870-1966), with the goal of initiating paths that will introduce her to new generations. This multifaceted figure, also significant in national history, deserves to be rediscovered, studied in depth, and passed on so that a part of our historical and ecclesiastical memory is not lost. The Baroness is one of the many precious pieces that enrich the diverse mosaic of our civil and religious identity. The charitable and welfare work of the Baroness fits into the broader spectrum of Catholic and social commitment that, between the 19th and 20th centuries, wrote glorious pages in service to our City and a wider territory.
