The present paper describes the main features of one of the clinical tools used in Ericksonian hypnosis: the fairytale. One of the principal aims of this work is to analyse the features of a fairytale, highlighting the differences between fairytale, allegory and myth, as well as the main differences between traditional tale and hipnoterapeutic tale.
