This article continues the study of work and family balance started by the author some years ago in order to stimulate more working time flexibility and educational and social services. The article analyses ISTAT and EUROSTAT data and a survey carried out by the European Foundation for the improvement of Living and Working conditions during the Covid19 lockdown. On the one side, digital divide of Italian families, enterprises and schools makes difficulties in smart working and distance learning. Italian families charged for their children education supporting students in distance learning. On the other side, efficient smart working could improve labour productivity and work-family balance. Adequate public and private strategies may improve this and favour labour flexibility in a better work and family balance approach.
Keywords: Female employment, work family balance, smart working, digital di-vide.
