The pandemic emergency and school closures have exacerbated territorial and educational inequalities, becoming the subject of much public debate. This situation has confirmed the role of schools and their spaces as central places to trigger changes, especially in fragile areas, where economic hardship, lack of services, and educational poverty combine. The current crisis represents a suitable opportunity to innovate the school, opening it to the local context and forming alliances with the educational community. The Contrat École program promoted by the Brussels-Capital Region is one of the most advanced references in the experimentation of integrated action plans. It gives the possibility to reflect on potential policies for the Italian context in the post-pandemic phase.
