Manuel Plana analyses The Routledge History of Modern Latin American Migration, a volume that introduces the migratory trajectories of Latin American populations as a complex of transnational movements linking origin, transit and receiving countries over the last 150 years. The contributors explore some of the main causes for migration, in order to provide a comprehensive map of the historical evolution of migration in Latin America and to define future challenges to migration studies in the region.
