Informazioni sugli e-book

This book comes from a rethinking of how to organize activities complementary to training courses on the theory of design and management of production systems. Its novelty consists in locating all applications of the theory in two reference companies (one belonging to the category of process production industry and the other to the discrete manufacturing one).
The book presents 14 tutorials (7 dedicated to the most important design problems in production systems and 7 dedicated to dedicated to production management issues) offering the opportunity for application of theory into the reality of the two reference companies. From the perspective of learning, this gives the advantage to operate seamlessly within the same reality by simply considering different aspects, but always with a close attachment to the complexity of a real situation.
For every tutorial, an Excel © file is provided as the guiding and solving tool for each individual application.

Marco Garetti
is full professor of Industrial Technology at the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering (DIG) of Politecnico di Milano, School of Engineering. He is author or co-author of several issues (books and journal papers) concerning: industrial plant engineering, maintenance management, product lifecycle management, industrial technology, automated production systems, operations management. He delivers training courses and performs consulting activity for private and public companies and institutions.
Natalia Duque Ciceri is a PhD candidate in Industrial Engineering at Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering (DIG) of Politecnico di Milano. Natalia's research interests focus on better understanding the development of products that close the material loops, improving their recyclability rates and desinging for environmetally-oriented product End-of-Life options.
Giacomo Tavola has a Degree in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. He worked 25 years in ICT market for majors ICT solution providers and hardware manufacturers. He has experience on application of ICT technologies to industrial environments with specific focus on Logistics, Process Control and Networking. Currently he works as contractor for Politecnico di Milano in teaching and research activities.
