Accessibility declaration

FRANCOANGELI is committed to ensuring that all users can access and use the resources we publish on our website. We have designed the site to be flexible and support those who have additional needs, especially those with visual impairments.
To this end, we have worked with a consultancy firm SitiAccessibili.it to ensure that our site complies with relevant legislation. In particular, we are compliant with WCAG 2.1 and a recent audit gave a positive assessment of the work carried out.
Our website works with all major screen reader services, helping users navigate and find the content they are looking for. We allow tabbed navigation to allow users who cannot use traditional navigation methods to explore the website.
We have a number of features built into our website to further support users, including:

• Fonts/text and icons correctly increase in size with the device zoom level.
• Text remains readable up to a zoom level of 200x and is not cut off.
• Most images have "alt" tags describing the image.
• The colours used on the site are significantly differentiated to aid readability.
• The website has been designed to maximise screen reader compatibility.
The site's content strategy favours text-based content over other media, with minimal use of images and video as the only content and text alternatives available.
• The text on the website is clear and easy to understand.
• The site uses a logical heading order and does not feature content that looks like headings but is not.

We are also working to ensure that the PDF versions of our books are accessible, this includes ensuring accurate headings and subheadings within our titles to make them easy to access using screen reader technology.
Our content is hosted in DRM-protected PDF files or DRM-protected ePub files and works with a range of software that has additional accessibility features built in, such as Cantook Reader and Thorium Reader. This includes additional zoom functionality, tab navigation, high contrast mode and black/green screens and a detailed navigation panel, as well as an integrated audio player.
There are several areas that we have highlighted as important next steps, including alt text for images in our titles. This is a big challenge for us, but we are involving our authors in the process and intend to prioritise this in the future.
We are also aware of some small issues on our website that need to be addressed, including:

• criterion "1.4.4 Text Scaling" is not met. Cases where it is not met do not prevent interaction with active elements on the site and also criterion "1.4.10 Flow Recalculation" is met so when the whole page is zoomed, the text can also be read at 200%.
• The cookie banner is not accessible, we have informed the provider and are waiting for them to release an accessible version
